FlightTrack & FlightTrack Pro Android
FlightTrack is available on the Android Market. Just search for FlightTrack.
The app crashed!
We’ve received crash reports from a few users recently. If you experience a crash, please email us with your type of device and Android version. If you could download SendLog from Android Market (free), that will enable you to email us with crash logging info so we can fix the problem.
Can’t find your flight?
If you encounter “No nonstop flights found”:
- Try Search by Route, but don’t specify an airline. (Airlines sometimes change a flight number or switch to a “affiliate” airline.)
- Check the airline web site. (Perhaps the airline does not fly on the day you are checking.)
- Some low-cost European airlines don’t provide advance information on their flights. (Therefore, data may not be listed until just before flight time.)
Email or tweet flight info
While viewing a saved flight, open the menu and click on "Share Flight". Alternatively, you can click and hold a flight in a list and select "Share Flight" in the context menu.
Notifications
Notifications report (when such info is provided by the airline, airport, or FAA) changes in gate, departure, or arrival, plus any time changes that are more than 10 minutes apart.
Speed & altitude
Speed and altitude are displayed when a flight is in US airspace. When viewing a flight, speed and altitude will appear in an animated display at the upper right.
General aviation flights
We are looking into tracking general aviation flights for the future, but this is not currently available.
Data refreshing
Data is automatically refreshed every 5 minutes.
Delayed, missing or inaccurate flight data
Flight data is our number one concern. Although our data provider (FlightStats) is the industry leader in collecting airline, airport, and other data, they are not perfect! Here are some factors that might cause trouble with flight data:
- Occasionally, an airline announces a delay or cancellation on its own web site, but not to the flight-tracking industry.
- Some airlines (including low-budget airlines and most charter airlines) don’t supply any data to the flight-tracking industry, but some data (from the airport and other sources) may be available close to departure time.
- Some airlines (particularly non-US carriers) don’t release any gate information to the flight-tracking industry, and many other airlines release gate information no more than about 60 minutes before departure.
Airline data delays and an FAA-required delay in live aircraft info can cause flight data to be delayed up to 15 minutes. If you encounter longer delays or any accurate information, please email us and include:
- Airline + flight number + date.
- Expected data.
- What FlightTrack or FlightTrack Pro displayed.

FlightTrack Pro Android
FlightTrack Pro is available on the Android Market. Just search for FlightTrack Pro. Or you may upgrade from FlightTrack: An in-app upgrade is available on the FlightTrack info screen.
Where is the launcher for FlightTrack Pro?
FlightTrack Pro has no launcher of its own; instead, it adds extra features to the original FlightTrack application. Simply launch FlightTrack as you normally would and the FlightTrack Pro features will be present.
How do I sync FlightTrack Pro with my TripIt account?
- Forward airline confirmation email to plans@tripit.com.
(Always email from your preferred email address, so the “from” field will bear that address. Don’t send from a booking site.) - Wait a few minutes to receive email from TripIt.
(Add support@tripit.com to your safe-sender list. If you are new to TripIt, click on the link in the TripIt message to confirm your email address and activate your account.) - Make sure FlightTrack Pro is logged in.
(Open FlightTrack Pro, open the menu, and click "TripIt Log In". If prompted, type your TripIt email address and password. Check the “I trust…” and tap “Sign up and grant access.” FlightTrack Pro will open automatically.)
After I have followed the steps above, why do flights from my TripIt account still not show up?
- Make sure that you have future flights listed at TripIt.com.
- Make sure to log in with the same email address that the confirmation email went to.
Having trouble with a multi-leg flight?
TripIt sometimes shows a multi-leg flight as a single flight, which then doesn’t show up in FlightTrack Pro. We are working to create a fix in FlightTrack Pro to work around this problem. (If you split such a flight in your TripIt itinerary, then all of the legs will show up at FlightTrack Pro: Visit TripIt.com, click the Options pull-down menu for the flight, and choose Delete. Then, enter each leg of the flight by clicking “Add plans.”)
How can I delete a completed flight (imported from TripIt)?
Flights imported from TripIt will auto-delete in about a day.
Why do I have duplicate flights?
If you change a flight reservation and then forward a new confirmation email to TripIt, TripIt will add the new flight(s) to your account, possibly resulting in duplicate flights. To delete a duplicate flight, visit TripIt.com, click the Options pull-down menu for a flight, and choose Delete.
What is the Delay Forecast?
Delay Forecast shows the past performance of a flight (when such data is available). To view the Delay Forecast, save a flight, view the Details page for the flight, and then scroll down.
My flight “could not be recognized”!
In FlightTrack Pro, when a flight “could not be recognized,” it means that a detail is incorrect or missing.
- Please visit TripIt.com and make sure that the airline, flight number, date, and airports are correct. Also, visit the airline web site and look up the flight by route, to be sure that all of the details you have are correct. (Some low-cost European airlines don’t provide advance information on their flights, so data may not be listed until just before flight time.)
- If needed, edit details of the flight at TripIt.com: On the same line as the flight, click on the Options pull-down menu, choose Edit, and then make needed changes.
