Bestselling iPhone Flight Tracker Integrates TripIt Travel Itineraries

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, February 4, 2009 -- iPhone software developer Appropos Mobile and online trip planning service TripIt today announced FlightTrack Pro, the next generation of the bestselling flight tracker for iPhone and iPod touch. Travelers simply forward their airline confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com, and FlightTrack Pro automatically provides real-time flight cancellations, delays, gate changes, route maps, 10-day weather forecasts and more. FlightTrack Pro is the first application to synchronize TripIt itineraries to its service on iPhone and iPod touch.

“Ever since releasing FlightTrack, travelers have asked us for an easy way to manage flight itineraries,” said Ben Kazez, founder, Appropos Mobile. “Our partnership with TripIt enables travelers to track all their flights, without re-entering their flight details.”

FlightTrack Pro’s seamless itinerary synchronization is powered by the TripIt API, which is the travel industry’s first open API (Application Programming Interface) for sharing travel itinerary information among travel websites, travel suppliers, travel agents and related travel services.

“We’ve had interest from the developer community ever since we launched TripIt.” commented Scott Hintz, co-founder and VP Business Development at TripIt. “So we’re excited to see the most popular iPhone flight tracker already using the TripIt API to make it easy for travelers to bring their itineraries to life.”

Appropos Mobile’s FlightTrack application topped the iPhone Travel bestseller list for eight weeks and remains the most popular flight tracker for iPhone and iPod touch, providing live route maps, delays, gate changes and more. Seamless TripIt itinerary synchronization in FlightTrack Pro brings flight tracking to a whole new level of convenience. FlightTrack Pro is available today on the iPhone App Store for $9.99 (US).
