Operations Engineer

We think it’s because we’re passionate about creating the most beautiful and useful mobile experiences in the world.

Mobiata was acquired by Expedia in 2010, and now we create Expedia’s apps while maintaining Mobiata apps and exploring emerging platforms like IPTV. We’re a startup within Expedia, and we act like one. We’re nimble and creative, and we obsess over our apps and have fun working together. Join us and help define the future of travel.

The Operations Engineer will be responsible for greasing the gears that keep Mobiata running. We’re looking for someone who can manage our internal networks and services, as well ensure our production servers are always up and running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who embodies the following:

  • Is passionate about keeping our systems running like a well-oiled machine
  • Is excited to pick up, run with, and even write new apps and processes to ensure we’re always working at peak efficiency
  • Is obsessed over server metrics and working with our service providers to ensure all of our core services have minimal downtime
  • Has a strong ability to both work independently and communicate with team members about new systems and processes

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience setting up and managing email, DNS, wiki and bug-tracking systems
  • Experience managing networks, including VPNs
  • Experience with Python, Google Apps and Amazon Web Services
