We’re committed to making the best mobile applications in the world. We work individually while getting help from each other and we believe in very little red tape and lots of efficiency. Our employees have a lot of control over their projects and a very strong say in the final product. If you are a star developer or visual designer who can tackle tough problems, write pristine code, obsess over our apps — and have fun doing all of it — we want to talk to you. Join us and define the future of mobile.

A little bit about us Mobiata creates best-selling mobile travel applications that have been featured by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Forbes, Washington Post, TechCrunch, USA Today, Macworld, PC Magazine and in Apple TV and print ads. In addition to our consumer apps, we’re working with travel companies to be their solution for mobile product development and execution. We are a mixture of super-smart young developers and a few veteran mobile executives. This means we’re fast, wise and able to get things done. We like being the best and we think you do, too.

Ben Kazez, Founder and President

Mobiata is the most amazing job I’ve ever had. I don’t know anyone else who gets to spend a few short weeks developing and perfecting an app (both over and under the hood), releases that app to the world, and then gets to see it featured in Apple and Google ads all over the place — and then do it all over again. We get things done way too fast to waste time on any work that’s not really important, so every engineer contributes in a major way, all the time. I also love the freedom every engineer gets — each engineer is a lead for a given application, in charge of figuring out releases, designing software architecture, getting visual designs together in conjunction with our designer, and implementing it all. It’s the whole software process, condensed and sped up to a really exciting pace. You can accomplish and contribute more at Mobiata in a few months than you would at a big company in a year.

At Mobiata the technology we develop is at the highest end of the mobile computing world, and the software we make is creating the future of travel. We’re designing systems that set the bar for other companies — and set it really high. I get to work on projects that go out to hundreds of thousand of users on the coolest tech available.

When the iPad was announced, our core team spent a day designing FlightTrack for iPad and then handed it off to me to execute. Three months later it was in the hands of users. A month after that it was featured by Steve Jobs in the WWDC Keynote. I’ve taken a product from concept to being featured in the Keynote in just 4 months.

Jason Bornhorst, Product Manager and App Engineer

I’ve been a part of Mobiata for a year now, with my hands in application development, UI design, project management, and hundreds of other things — and it’s been the most exciting year of my life. It’s a surreal experience to be right out of college and have my work in the hands of hundreds of thousands of people each day. And the team is awesome! We’re a tight-knit group of people changing the face of travel and having a great time doing it. I work in Austin, TX, and have designed a few UI’s over breakfast tacos and margaritas.

I love wearing my FlightTrack t-shirt when I travel. Every time I’ve flown, I’ve been flagged down by an excited FlightTrack user sitting near me on the plane. Whether I want it or not, they’ll tell me what’s great and what sucks about the code I wrote just two weeks ago! Now that’s feedback you’ll never get in your six-month performance review at big corporate!

Dan Lew, App Engineer

Mobiata is the sort of job that makes me happy to be a developer - it's interesting, empowering and convenient. With mobile, you're on the cutting edge of technology and I love learning new platforms and features right as they are being released. I have an amazing amount of control in the apps that I write, often times taking a project from nothing to complete in only a few weeks.

One of the most satisfying things about developing for mobile is how close you are to your user-base. You get to see the fruits of your labor immediately: release a new feature and thousands will be using it within the next day. You get to hear from your users about what they want and what they don't like about the new release instantly. This can make the mobile space intense to develop for at times, but I love the challenge. It's a wonderful feeling to create applications that enhance and improve people's smartphone experiences.

Eric Garcia, App Engineer

Mobiata is the most exciting, fast-paced environment I've ever worked in. Since starting just five months ago, I've worked on three different apps and confronted many unique design and development challenges. My favorite part is the iteration: releasing an app, getting feedback, making improvements, and releasing a superior app. I even did some Spanish localization for FlightTrack! Yeah! If you were a Spanish major in undergrad, you would be excited too. In short, the opportunities are limitless at Mobiata. We've come such a long way since I've been on board, and I can't wait to see where we are in another few months!

Ben Asher, App Engineer

After only two months at Mobiata, it's hard to believe the amount of input I have been able to have on the apps and projects I have worked on. The projects are exciting, and I have gone through several app releases, all of which I have contributed to at a high level. Mobiata is on the leading-edge of mobile development in the travel sector, and because of that my projects have been both challenging and rewarding. And the Mobiata staff are incredible. Everyone is an expert, and they are more than hospitable.

On my first day at Mobiata, I got my first big project: the Airport Board View. I started working on it that very day, and it went live within two months. During that project, I got to use cutting edge development techniques, learned how to work in the fast-paced world of mobile development, and got to see a product all the way through from development to production.
